THE STORY BEHIND THE BOOK

While deployed overseas, Alex was greeted daily by a flock of birds that nested in the housing area. On occasion, one bird would follow Alex, as he walked from the housing area to his work area. This inspired Alex to write and illustrate a story to give to his kids. This also inspired him to write the book, "Never Eat a Cactus Sandwich."
